Senior Quantity Surveying Engineer
Qualifications:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the field of steel structures.
- Proficient in Excel and ERP systems, with a solid understanding of AutoCAD and Tekla Software.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze contract agreements to extract pertinent commercial information for use in the execution stage (such as scope of work, method of measurements, exclusion list, deviation list, responsibility matrix, optional rates, etc.).
- Scrutinize ISSUED FOR CONSTRUCTION QTY’s received through the welcome package, comparing them with contract drawings. For re-measurable projects, study types of received ISSUED FOR Construction and compare them to bidding drawings to prepare for potential claims (e.g., complexity, change in category/type).
- Monitor and track all quantities at various stages during execution.
- Collaborate with project and engineering teams to update and register quantities from receiving IFC’s QTY’s to ISSUED FOR FABRICATION, facilitating monthly forecasting of contract/PO value.
- Review monthly invoicing to ensure separate billing of main scope and variations.
- Validate weight and scope of drawings upon issuance from Engineering.
- Prepare a list of potential claims/variations for each project related to quantity or drawing complexity.
- Differentiate between main scope and variation quantities, maintaining proper supporting documents for each type.
- Assign appropriate cost codes for each project and verify implementation by the Engineering team.
- Verify supplier invoices against claimed quantities from the client.
- Prepare final quantifications and close the final PO value in collaboration with the Project Management department and the client.
- Attend client meetings to discuss the method of measurements for each project.
